Piles is also known as hemorrhoids. In this condition the anal tissues become inflamed and cause immense pain while defecating and even sitting.
It might seem uncommon, but about 50% of the population suffers from piles or hemorrhoids.
What is piles or hemorrhoids? *img
In piles the tissues of the anus become inflamed and in severe cases bleeding occurs from the anus. The inflammation can be internal or external.
In internal inflammation, the tissues located 3-4 cm inside the anus become inflamed and cause painful conditions. However, in external piles, the inflammation occurs at the external area of the anus.
Symptoms of piles:

It has 4 grades:
Grade I:
- Small inflammation
- Minor
- not very visible
Grade II:
- Inflammation inside the anus
- This might get pushes out when passing stool. However, they can return back.
- Severe than grade I
Grade III:
- Prolapsed hemorrhoids
- Appear outside the anus.
- Can be felt hanging from he rectum and can be pushed back
Grade IV:
- Cannot be pushed back and need treatment.
- Larger than grade III
- When the lumps form outside the anus, they become very itchy and painful. They can also develop blood clot due to back flow of blood. These type of external piles require immediate treatment.
Causes of piles:
- When the pressure increases on the lower rectum,
- The blood vessels in the rectum become stretched because of which they may also swell causing bulge.
- This can occur due to the following causes:
- Chronic constipation or difficulty in passing stool
- Chronic diarrhea or bowel infection
- Pregnancy (most women do experience it first after delivery)
- Piles is inherited by parents to offspring.
- Heavy lifting because of strain on the anus.

You can do this pose in the following way:
Sit on the floor with your back straight and legs straight ahead of you. Then bend forward so that your nose touches the knees. Stay in the seated forward pose for 5 mins.

Steps:
Sit on the floor with legs straight in front of you. Then gradually bend the left knee and bring the right leg closer to the pelvic region just as cross legged position.
